97 e300 warning lights

I have a 97 e-300 with 140000 miles on it. Some times on the second start of the day when the car sit in the sun and it is hot out when I start the car the ETS, Anti-lock and the Brake line wear lights come on. After this the car will not rev above 1000 rpm like when you have the brake on. If i wait several minutes or less the lights seem to reset. Also while driving the lights will all come on. The car will not shift out of the gear that it was in when this happened. If I stop the car the car will not shift into reverse the lever moves baut nothing happens. My mechanic can not figure out the problem. The codes dont tell much. He replaced the switch on the emerg. brake said he saw problem somewhat like it before but seems to be at a dead end. The check engine light also come on but that also resets after some time. Does anybody have any ideas?

Sounds to me like a problem with the anti-skid system is limiting the car's power like it thinks you are in a skid...have you tried using the over-ride and seeing if that helps. Not sure on the '97...on the '98 I have a button I can pull to shut of the anti-skid control.

Using the CCU check item #20 or 24(?) and see what your battery voltage is when the fault occurs. Should report greater than 13 volts.

Press and hold "rest" for 5 secs, use left and right auto buttons to toggle to that item. Press rest again to clear.

The ASD switch on mine is on the center consol next to the window controls.
