616 Transmission bolt size (for engine stand)
Hello!
I have a 616 I'd like to put on the stand this weekend but I haven't been able to find what size bolt I need to use. I assume they're the same as the tranny-to-engine bolts, but longer to account for spacing. Anyone know what size of bolt I need to use here? Thanks! |

OM616 bolts for engine stand
I can now state definitively that the threaded holes in the block and the upper oil pan of an OM616 engine are M10 x 1.5 mm coarse thread. If you're putting it on an engine stand you need to know that the blind holes in the upper portion of the block are approximately 25mm deep; add 25mm to the length needed to go through the engine stand bracket, subtract a few mm so that you can snug the bolt without bottoming out, and there's your bolt shank length!
