I believe alda(s) can only be found on the turbo models. It is what advances the fuel when the boost goes up.

If you are up for the project then go for it.

72 has good engine from what Im told, both manual and auot tranny, 69 has better panels. Between the two youve got a good car.

How many hours would it take to get to the blower? I prefer to do as much work myself

Having owned three of them, I will tell you this. They are neat, fun, easy to work on for the most part (the blower is a deal killer sometimes) and very slow compared to modern traffic. They require some driving habits adjustment. As far as the blower motor goes; its up to you as far as how badly you need the circulation. I drove a '69 year round for four years through northern winters w/o a blower. The faster you're moving the more air you get! Below freezing it was cold in the car- I just bundled up. It always managed to keep the windows clear. But I grew up with VW Beetles so maybe thats why I didn't care. I'm very fond of my w123 but I sure miss my w115's. Go for it...

From the pictures shown it looks like......

Those cars sure look like they may have SERIOUS rust, on them, so bad that they could possibly be unroadworthy, even if they could be gotten to run.

Check out the floor pans, trunk, rocker panels, jack points and everywhere on them. If you lift up the carpet and see the road beneath you I would nix the car right there.

They might be nothing better than parts cars frankly.

It seems every car ad features an engine rebuild just 10-15K miles ago... he better have receipts.

With that few pics, and not very many details, I'd be travelling to look before dropping any cash.

I work on the weekends and have to ask off 2+ weeks in advance. The guy said if I could get there by sep 1st to look before I pay, we could do that, but I just dont have the time. Id hate to pass these up if they really can run

Seems to me these are fun long-term project cars. Not something you'd buy with the intention of driving right away.

Yeah. I might not get them. Ive got a half ton gasser and I wouldnt wanna put 1600 miles of hauling wear and tear on it. Plus $1000 or more to ship some cars that most probably wont even run without some work just seems like a waste.

Fpr about a grand, I could buy this one 300D Im looking at in FL for $700, get a plane ticket AND then drive it home for about the same amount

I believe they did, I know the 75 I was looking at only had 5.

BBJ, I really wouldn't buy those without personally looking, which is out, or having a butt ton of pics taken of just about everything. Sure they may have run to get into the garage,, like run down a hill. I don't trust too many Ebay people, even though I have bought a car from Ebay with a good experience.
