How do you use a dial indicator to measure rotor play?
I've got a dial indicator and vac base (from 2' cam timing procedure). How do I use it to check end play?

Don't know what you are checking, but pull it one direction, put indicator on and zero it. Now push item in other direction and check reading.

That there indicator has a magnetic base, which is more usefull around cars than a vacuum base. A magnetic base can be bought separately for thee indicator.

I removed the lower base and first arm and then fed the wheel bolt through the "hinge" into the brake caliper mount bolt hole. Worked like a champ.
