What window regulator?
The front drivers window on my 85SD rolled up crooked. I pulled the door panel & found the rear regulator arm slightly bent allowing the motor to twist. The rubber mounting bushings are also shot. I'm looking for a deal on a regulator or parts car. What years & models are compatible with the 85? The problem appears to be caused by the twisting action of the regulator motor. Is this correct? Is prevention replacing the bushings or snugging them up? I don't want to have to replace all 4 regulators if I can help it.

For the front windows just about any W126 will work. I replaced my right side with one from a 560SEL.
The rears will only fit if they are from a short wheelbase car. I tried using the ones from the 560SEL and they would not fit. Luckily I only needed to replace the motor and that interchanged between regulators. I paid 35 bucks a piece at my local bone yard.

I'm 20 mi SE of Nashville, TN. How chaep do parts cars go for? I have leads on 2 cars that are within 50 mi. The 1st supposedly has piston slap (how do you spell rebuild or worse) & the 2nd needs motor mounts but has been sitting at the mechanics for a year. Both have 300K+ on the odometer & both people want to sell them as running cars. I want them on the cheap. I buy parts cars for my other toy (Datsun Z) for $200 or less. Will that hold for these? Anyway, I'm interested in your regulators.
