1983 240D: Manual Climate Control Fix?
Story: I bought the car, the AC worked. I fiddled with the climate controls, the AC now only blows hot air on any setting. Apparently, this is due to the manual climate control shorting or not connecting or something. The previous owner of the car said it did this to him and there was "just one spot" where it worked, otherwise it'd blow hot.
That leads me to believe there's something coming apart in the Manual Climate Control, like a soldering connection. Question: Is there any guide for how to remove a Manual CCU and solder it back into working shape? Could I remove the Manual CCU and put an Automatic one in? Help is much appreciated. |

Did you make sure the electrical cable to the compressor is properly connected? It's easily seen from below the car. If your compressor isn't engaging, I'd look there first.
