And you're questioning the worthiness of this deal?! For that price, if that's all true, whether or not I needed or wanted the car I'd grab it. If it were closer I probably would have already....excellent car for a parts car price......

Jury is still out. I do pretty much have her talked into it regardless
of whether or not she likes the ride.......an investment. I have an Indy going to look at it and I am waiting on pins and needles........these deals don't come along everyday. Any defects or problems know for this model?

Look for it bein a far better handling car than your 123's. Then sell the '83 and make the '76 your daily driver, thats what i'd do. Have to laugh about "old car syndrome" when it comes to Vintage MB's.

And hell, for what yer payin why not take it to dealership for 150k mile routine service? Car looks like a steal to me.

Since when is a 115 a better handling car than the 123?
The 123 has a better suspension than the 115.

Far more thought went into 115 suspension and handling than went into 123's. Tighter steering radius, better ballanced. 123 susp was created as afterthought based on 116 geometry downsized. Excellent for weight and wheelbase of the 116 but doesnt work as well on 123's. Meanwhile 115 ball-joint suspension was created for that body style alone.

I have never driven a 115 but I have ridden in one and it seemed quite mushy riding. It was a 68 220D I only can base my opinion on that ride.
At this point I'm only comparing suspension components and geometry in my assessment.
