Just for fun Lets play: WHATS IT WORTH!!!??

OK, whats it worth? This is a fully functioning, museum piece, no salt, no rot, no surface rust, no worn or faded leather, new tires, new exhaust, new water pump, no fluid leaks, no rain water leaks, no winters, no kids, no way!!
1981 Mercedes Benz 240D MANUAL Gearbox, 117,000 miles.

I know its only worth what they are fetching on Ebay but considering this is a 4 speed manual gear box, I don't know if this increases the value or not. Owner said that he got 40MPG with this car. Is it possible to achieve this figure on a consistent basis if driven very conservatively?
My 300D gets in the mid 20's.
thanks for playing!

going about 50 mph maybie.. if you got the engine PERFECT and the drivetrain PERFECT and the tires PERFECT, basically if the car was brand new maybie.

I do not believe 40 mpg is possible in the real world, the low 30s takes some effort. Whether the manual makes it worth more depends on the buyer.

It's difficult to imagine a "museum piece" with 117K miles, maybe with 17K miles. Based on the mileage, I doubt it will do much better than $5-7K unless it is in exceptional condition (with the right buyer, in the right location).

Thanks for input.

OK, thanks for the input about mileage and price.
Right now I'll stick with my 76 300D and 84 300TurboDiesel.

Being biodiesel compatible will raise its asking price by about $10,000.
No kidding.
