Windshield washer nozzle removal?
Would somebody be so kind as to inform me of the best way to remove these little critters?
![]() There appears to be a couple of tabs on the underside of the hood but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to separate the nozzle from the stem underneath ![]() Thanks for replies! ![]()

Thank you for the info. I'm not certain that I need to rmeove it but I am trying to figure out why I am only getting a 'sputter-y' kind of 'spurt', not a decent stream out onto the window. ![]() The driver's side nozzle functions as it should. Any others ever have this issue? If so, what did you do to remedy it?

I just use a small pin to clear the nozzles from the outside.

Yeah, sorry, missed the sig.
The new nozzles are about $4 each. It seemed less trouble to just replace them than ream them out.....

I just rebuilt my washer system with all new "soft" parts. New tank grommet, new tubing, check valve, and nozzles. The whole bill came in under $22.

I disconnected the tubes at the check valve (left them connected to the nozzles), then backflushed using a Water Pik (thrift store find) applied to the exits of the nozzles. I wasn't doing this to be cheap, but I didn't have new parts ready at hand, and I wanted to get things working right then. With a little advance notice, the "all new parts" fix sounds pretty good to me, too. The Water Pik trick worked fine for the washer nozzles, but I don't think I'd recommend it for JimmyL's, uh, situation. ![]() |
