My 124's rear pas wheel squeeks around turns???

I have a 300d that when I go around a curve or turn I can hear a metal scraping sound in the back passenger wheel. I tore it apart several weeks back but didn't see anything. Any ideas?

rotor backing plate? antisway bar link? rear disc pads? e-brake problems?
what does it sound like? when does it make the noise?

I changed the sway link on that wheel. It did the same before I changed it. I had both sets of rear pads changed recently. I pushed the rotor backing plate in a bit. But it only does it around curves. I'm not sure why. Sometimes after a curve it'll still do it but the curve seems to bring it on. Also... it's a 'Wahw-wahw-wahw-wahw' metal type sound.

Hmmm. could be a bad tire, or a bad axle joint. could be driveshaft center support too... rear bearing?

John, thanks for the tips... I don't think it's an axle joint. The boots look good still and I don't hear a continual grinding, just when I turn.

I don't know much about the wheel bearings but would that make a scraping noise when I turn?

To me it sounds like the rotor backing plate. I'd bet money on it if I was a betting guy. But I wonder why it's doing it only on turns. Maybe something is tilting??? Is there something I can do to the backing plate to make the sound go away?

Brake heat shield, I've had it before. Need to bend/tweak it so that there is more clearance between the shield and the rotor.

thats so funny, i have the same problem when i turn hard left, i get a squeal, i recently installed 2001 c230 rims, but the squeal started much later.... i did the brakes recently, i wonder if it is the heat shield for the rotor...

thanks babymog for the suggestion
