WOW! My car runs faster and smoother!
I put a few posts up to see if anyone knew why my transmission was reluctant to go into 3rd gear suddenly on the first run of the day. After it did it once, it was ok the rest of the day. No one knew, and I thought maybe I had a big transmission problem.
Took it to the repair shop, turns out he said the throttle linkage needed lubed on the top side of the engine, and there was something under the gas pedal that has linkage or something as well. He said when he took it out for a spin and stomped on the gas pedal, and let his foot up, the pedal stayed down and the car still accelerated, the pedal wasn't as responsive as it should have been. The friction of the linkage caused the transmission not to shift at times when it should have.
I get the car back, and wow! What a difference! The car shifts quicker now and the car, which was adequate before, for a diesel, is now almost actually quick. Lube your linkage areas!
