Mechanics Gloves--I guess its time....
When I was young I was kind of proud of having bruised knuckles and gashed hands but I guess it was time.
Well we all get older and our lives change. We meet poeple a lot and its not always nice to proffer a swollen gashed hand with broken fingernails in a meeting or in front of a class. You might think that a dirty bandaid wrapped around your index finger is cute, but somebody else might not take it the same way. There's a lot of women in the workforce and you better be careful how you come across because in today's workforce a woman could determine your future as well as a man. I once witnessed a pour soul who had poor hygiene and was not well dressed in the IT department first get demoted and then literally moved to a storage room because a gaggle of ladies around him did not like his offensive odor. Its the 21st century, I guess. The manager was a Lady. You just need those gloves especially in the cold weather. I mean you bruise your hand and sometimes the cold weather and adrenaline will block the pain from a bad injury. I wear those gloves as much as I can. When I am doing something with a lot of torque and moving around the periphery of engine assemblies withh bigger tools, like pipes and jackstands and I always wear the gloves. Other times, I still have to get "The Feel" around those little nuts. Have they worked? Looking at my hands right now, No. I burned them a month ago on Exhaust Pipe. I went to a meeting and this guy shook my hand real hard because I am told I am large person and he busted my burn scabs! My hands are now permanently marked up.
