New diesel exhaust system
I picked up this "cat back" system for a friend of mine a few weeks ago. I'm thinking of mounting it up on the 300.....

I needed that! I just spit water all over my keyboard! Don't forget the wing and decals, then you too can be "fast and furious"

Ahhh, the quick and cheap way to make your ride faster.
Oh, and quite hideous too, IMHO.

it adds 10 hp yo
My friend has a new muffler for his MR2 and its massive.. it has like a 7" tip and 4" inlet... I fitted the inlet over my forearm(I'm a skinny dude) and started running around the garage pretending to be Megaman... we were all laughing our asses off... I might have to borrow it next year for halloween...yea.. cut that thing off his car for my costume |

I've got a nice 5" curved chrome tip I'm going to cut shorter and use in place of the muffler.

Don't tempt me! I saw a clean hood of my car's same color in the junkyard last month that would make a great spare and thought of doing exactly that.
Dangit, now you've resurrected that idea back into my head. |

or.. like.. out of the front quarter panel.. not all sticking out but an exhaust outlet straight out of the side.. with metal plate around it for heat protection??

Nah, I try to avoid altering the core unibody structure. The hood is easily replaceable (and has some dents anyway), the inner fender is not.
The only thing I need to figure out is a way to securely mount the pipe but make it removable to open the hood. I want a flapper too... |

hmmmm....I don't know the proper term for the system of mounting it but this is how I see them
Pipe A - an L slot is cut into it.. on the north and south portion of the circle Pipe B- receives Pipe A and has two pins aligned to the L slots... put pipe A onto P.. turn and it locks into place on the pins... |

I'd just have to put a screen inside. Some of the b@stards around these apartments are sure to put things into it. (Thats the second reason I want a flapper, so I can lock it closed.) |

yea.. stupid people... .. a good ole tight fit might work.
But I'm against a big ass stack for the most part...I just like helping so its done correctly... Stacks are for diesel pick ups I saw a dodge 1500 with a hemi with stacks.. It.. .just didn't seem right |

Reason has returned.
I really want the exhaust to be semi-quiet and routed out the back so I can hear the whistle of the turbo. ...and smoke people behind me. Okay rg2098, [/HIJACK THREAD] Last edited by ForcedInduction; 11-27-2007 at 11:47 PM. |
