W124 Vibration Problem

Hi, I'm a UK member whos the proud possessor of a 1990 w124 250D I have a vibration problem at around 1000rpm static and mobile. Engine mounts are new, I suspect the bottom pulley is at fault as when I watch the serpentine belt as the vibe occurs it seems to flicker coming off the pulley.
Have any members experienced this problem and can you advise as to any pitfalls I may come accross in trying to sort it out.
