Door Latch

I have an 83 300 Diesel turbo. The key will no longer lock the passenger side door. I assume that I need a new latch. Does anyone out there in cyberland have any idea if the latch on an 84 280E Euro version will fit?

that depends on what you are driving. it will not fit a chevy malibu... if you are driving a 190D or a 300D from 77-85 I would think it would fit.
but you may not need a whole latch, what happens is the leaves in the tumbler wear out. pull your door handle off, pop out the llittle pin and slide out the tumbler, clean all the years of crud out, and inspect the leaves with the key in. the ones that stick up are worn, pull them, and go to a lock smith and get replacements. only a few cents.
