SLS - Hydraulic Pump Leak

The leak appears at the seam of the two halves. Not where I previously thought on the head, rather where it joins together. Bolts are all tight. Has the seal failed? Is there a reseal kit?

AFAIK, there is a kit available. maybe dealer part? but it seems that it is just an oring. also, a new pump to haed gasket would prolly be needed.

I am sure that fastlane or any other GOOD parts source will be able to find it for you.

How easy..? Just remove and replace? Or are there compressed springs that are likely to shoot out and put a hole in my neighbors house? When pump is removed, will there be excess oil spillage or will just one bottle of fluid be sufficient to top off after O ring is replaced? Thanks.

Search on it. There are pictures somewhere on the forum. I have a vague recollection of someone writing that a standard 0 ring might fit the pump.

Thanks..but no. That is for the rear valve (behind the rear wheels). My issue is a leak from the pump itself.
I found this great thread....but unfortunately it doesn't seem conclusive. Anybody know where I can find the O ring pictured by Jimmy L?

SLS Pump Rebuild Kit or Components?

Thanks

Yep, that's the thread I had in mind. I'd disassemble the pump, take the o-ring to the nearest hardware store and size up a replacement. Can't do much harm.

Do you know what I can expect when I unscrew the pump and hoses. Is it going to be a giant oily mess? Or will it contain itself pretty well?

Thumbs up

Meyle has the reseal kit for the pump mounted block, they're reasonable. My 560 has a leak there.
