I think the kit may have the instructions. I don't recall any writeup on it on the site. Advise when you get it, please.

I installed the K1 and K2 springs from the kit with no problems. The included instructions are limited, but sufficent. There are several write ups for the K1 kit from Mercedes, and most of those would be applicable.

Tankdriver - Did you get the kit installed??? Did it work for you???

Considering the number of transmission problems posted here, I'm surprised that this kit isn't mentioned more. It really helped me, but I'm not sure if my situation with a broken K2 spring was unique or not. If this is a common problem, a lot of frustration could be avoided endlessly tweaking vacuum problems. No amount of testing or adjusting could have helped me, but two easily installed springs made my transmission like new...well almost new:).

No, not yet. I had to wait for some money to transfer to the account I use for online buys. I'm hoping to have it by next weekend and get them in weather dependent.
I think I either (or also) have driveshaft issues. I've been driving the other car for a bit so I haven't crawled under yet.

Got the kit the other day, put some in today.
The first step is: remove valve body.
What valve body, doesn't say. Where the valve body is, doesn't say. How to remove said body, doesn't say. Torque specs when replacing valve body, doesn't say.
It did have exploded drawings, so actually doing the replacing is pretty straightforward. It didn't come with a replacement for 2 of the 3 springs for the K1. It did have an option to replace all 3 with one if you wanted firm shifts.
It's actually a pretty straightforward process, and if it wasn't for one screw being blocked, you wouldn't have to remove the valve body.:mad:
Since I'd found some K1 instructions earlier, I was able to replace the K1 and K2 springs before realizing what the valve body was, and by then I wasn't about to take it off more than halfway done. There were a couple of springs left, for stacked shifts.

The whole escapade turned out to be useless at best, and seems to maybe have made my problem worse (just from the short drive home). It is most likely because the springs weren't my problem. They looked just fine when I removed them, but replaced them anyway.
It's pretty clear now that I have a failing B2 piston. It's not quite gone, but it won't be long. It struggles to make the shift, jerking as tries/fails/tries/fails, etc.. Now that it's gotten bad enough, no more driving it. I've pretty much had it, so I don't think I'll be doing the B2. And it's not in good enough cosmetic shape to be worth it.
I don't really have a way to part it out, but I don't want to send it to the junkyard for nothing when it's mechanically sound other than the trans.

Fix it, and stop buying them.
 
Now I too have a sense of wasted time. I wish people wouldn't get into and out of these cars so fast, eventually somebody has to pay to fix it. Or have you expertly convinced yourself that you've made the right decision to take a Mercedes off the road because you lack the skill set to repair it yourself? I hope that this is a lesson in seeing that these cars outlast our interest in them.

Well you may be right. But what exactly was the point of delivering a volley in response to a nearly six-year-old posting? :rolleyes:

This reminds me that I should get back to my shift kit installation video series for the Superior kit and the 722.3xx series. I pulled a valve body and everything and started the videos but then I got side tracked. I had plans to illustrate the whole kit and installation into the valve body. I was even going to split the valve body and show that procedure. I hope I can get this done on my car and make the video within 6 months. Things have just been taking priority lately; like getting married, etc!
