Help!300D runs wierd in Lake Worth!

Searched the forum, & can't find very recent posts from Lake Worth,West Palm area on friendly competent folks in the area who could lend an ear & provide a clue as to why engine vibrates, and automatic tranny wont kick in til u really rev the engine. (the tranny fluid is clear &clean)

Cracked the injector lines open just a smidgeon while idling, & it seemed the middlemost one made the least difference, but still some.

Afraid to drive it very far from eastern lake worth the way it is now.

also, where to get parts, like injector return tubing for less than an arm and a leg ($29/M at palmbeach mercedes!).

Thanx for reading this far!

Tranny issue sounds like a bad pump. Pull one of the coolant lines and see how much flow you are getting. A video of the vibration might help diagnose it. Post on youtube and then link here.

If you are saying that from a stop you need to rev the Engine before it will go into first gear; I had that problem in the past.
I changed the Filter and Fluid and the problem went away.
Almost 1 year afterwards the B2 Piston Broke.

This makes me suspect that my original problem was a sticking B2 Piston that was on the way out.

I go by 300Dman over on Benzworld
B2 Piston Symtoms from members car
http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w123-e-ce-d-cd-td/1495280-first-gear-flare-slipping.html

I do not entirely agree with the below because mine had some symptoms before the Piston Broke and the guy at Benzworld was also having symptoms that replacing the B2 Piston seemed to fix.
So, I guess from the list below Failure means the Piston Broke.

(from my notes on someone elses thread)The symptoms of a B2 piston failure are unmistakable:
Fails without any warning whatsoever
Slips out of gear in 1st with any load
Massive flaring going into second (this would be the reving to upshift into second.)
3rd and 4th work normally
Reverse works normally

+2 on B2 piston possibility.

Many options for injector bypass hose. 1/8" fuel hose works.

It also helps to know what you are working on. W123, W124, W210 ?

Funny, my first thought was that any 300D would run funny in a lake !

Note that there is much info about tuning and diagnosis of engine performance here.
What is your mileage? Is the fuel clean?
How old are the fuel filters?
How old are the hoses? Any vacuum leaks?
Maybe the injectors need to be rebuilt/replaced?
You might need to rebuild the delivery valves?
The vacuum line from the banjo bolt on the intake around to the alda or alda control on the firewall (forget exact name if this part), may need to be cleaned.

Also keep in mind that a bad motor mount will give the illusion of issues. Make sure the mounts are healthy.

Go visit Dezi, his wife Teresa and his brother Zoli at Eurotech on Military just north of Okeechobee if you need mechanical work that is beyond what you can do. If not then keep reading here as this is by far the best place to find out how to fix your MB diesel. If it's really bad drop me a PM I live very close.
