Center Console Lights

Another little minor issue. On my 300d none of the center console lights (climate control, window controls etc.) are working (the dash lights work just fine). They've never worked since I bought it, and I doubt it's a bunch of burnt out bulbs. So I was thinking it would be a wire or a fuse somewhere, but before I started just tearing things out and following wires, I thought someone here might able to narrow my search...

There is a single bulb that feeds light to all those items via a fiber optic spider behind the CCU. The CCU itself has individual bulbs for each button and the temp wheel.

That's what that crazy looking thing is, thanks for the info. So that makes sense for the lights above the CCU, but I don't think that spider feeds the lights for the window switches that are below the shifter. I Imagine I'll just have to look under or behind the dash, because it just doesn't seem to me that any lights in the center console area are getting power...maybe there's a wire not connected to the dimmer switch

No, another feeds the window switches, they are very small bulbs. I would change them first.
My question is does the temp (outside) display have a light?

The center console and window switch lights are powered through a single wire from the instrument cluster (rheostat controlled), then through a connector that branches off six or so different ways. The schematic shows six bulbs (four at the CCU, one for the fiber optical spider and one for the hazard flasher), plus the LED's in the window switches.

thanks...I'll check the single wire from the dash, and that connector tomorrow (driving the wagon today).

I just noticed that the shift selector lamp is wired directly from the headlight switch. Does it work? Everything else in the center console goes through the dimmer switch.

Yeah, the shifter lights work...I'm pretty sure the problem is post dimmer switch...
