1993 300D 2.5 Low Power

My 1993 2.5 turbo has what I feel is low power, and a feeling of lack of much turbo boost. Here are some things about the car that I have noticed.

1--When cold (not warmed up) the car has very low power.
2--When just warmed up, but not hot, (not up to 80 degrees c), power is better. The turbo has a slight whissle.
3--When hot, (slightly above 80 degrees c, or with the AC on, the power is very low. If the car is on a slight grade and given throttle, there is no discernible turbo feel, nor whissle from it.
4--When hot, the trans tends to shift a bit harsh.

All vacuum lines look good, the car has 130K and otherwise runs like a charm. Can anyone speculate what might be going on?

I guess one of the first things I would do is to get hold of a vacuum chart for the 602.962 engine and make sure all hoses are there and in good shape. Do you have a chart?

You should be able to go 0-60 mph in 13 or 14 seconds. When new our cars could do it in about 12.5 seconds!

EGR... Vacuum Operated Wastegate

Associated obstructions to OM602 performance (Listed Above)

1.EGR kit...........#5

2.Wastegate actuator swap for OM602.962?

DO Modification #2 FIRST and the EDS (Electronic Diesel System) [Computer]
will not care about[or penalize you in lack of Boost] for Modification #1.

#1 thing to always do - perform all necessary maintenance. Do these have the banjo bolt and line heading to the switchover valve? Clean that for starters.
