need alt mount bracket for 79 240d

I need an Altenator mount bracket (main aluminum to engine) I just purchased this for an SVO conversion and someone cobbled together the alt and ruined the mount bracket. If any one is parting out one I would be interested. Thanks

Have you checked out your local wrecking yards? we had 2 240D at our
local P N P last week. don`t know if they are still there.

some one here on the forum should have a parts vehicle. or check the
parts section.

I've got an 85 240D import and the bracket is steel. I know, I've welded it.

All I can find in the junkyards lately have been old 240's and Volvos. Trying to find an '87 300D, or any other 124 body, in the yards is almost impossible. Wish I still had the 240 as I would have been able to find parts for it.

here is a pic of the bracket that I need, it has a mount(not shown) that attaches comes from the other side to the front of the block(all part of same bracket)

Thanks

OK, that's the bracket that bolts to the block, a pick-n-pull is your best bet. The pic is of the mount, not shown, right?

I think you have to remove the main pulley on the crank to access that mount.

mount

That is the mount for the adjustment. I have that one I just finished welding it back together, that is how I realized the lower mount was bad, someone stuck a 3/8 carriage bolt in there and ruined the holes.

I guess I should have written mount hole. There is a mount bolt hole on the front of the mount pictured.

And no I did not have to remove the harmonic balancer(pully on the crank)

Thanks alot,

Tim
