Another glow plug question - test procedure

Folks, I couldnt find anything in the FSM about testing the GPs., specifically the harness.

I get voltage in the harness all the way to 80c. I thought the GPS were at start up only?

This is in a 95, where teh GPS test OK using a VOM ( 0.6ohms each), btu we have a odd cold running issue.

Need to know what the GP is supposed to see through the harness. Volatage on start up, until warm, what???

THNX!

Check www.dieselgiant.com for his GP and Relay pictorial for the OM616, OM617 engines. Not sure if the procedure will be the same for your model.

He says nothing about after the first 20 seconds.

Do they just shut off then? These do not.

You have an Afterglow relay. Really helps with cold weather starting, but is hard on the GPs. Search on Afterglow.
