The interior is dark blue just like the outside. It is velour not the MBtex. What do you guys think this thing would be worth with a smashed in front and 165k miles? I would maybe attempt to fix it if I had the space/time as I think it would be doable, but I don't. Also, if anyone is interested it has the original first aid kit still in the factory plastic wrap from 1979. That seems rare enough that it shouldn't be sent to the junkyard or where ever it ends up. Are there any other high demand parts that I should be pulling off before I sell it? It is a euro import if that makes any difference.

PS; the crash was my fault (thought the car ahead was going to turn right on a soon to be yellow light, she hit the brakes hard instead, and I hit her) so 1 million wet noodle lashes aren't really necessary....

Just curious what flavor the other car was and how badly it suffered? For all the tank-like reputation these cars have, they sure seem to get beat up by things that ought to be getting beat up instead...

It was a Toyota Corolla or something and It didn't even look like it got hit. I think my car would have been fine/destroyed the other if it hit bumper to bumper, but it had one of those new plastic integrated bumpers and it went right over my bumper and into my grill and lights.

the reason our cars looks like hell when they get front ended is the grill, lights, and hood. The structure holding them to the car is in my opinion, purely cosmetic. When theyre front ended, the car looks really bad. The hood is pushed way back and the entire front end destroyed. But the passenger compartment is never touched, thanks to the rigid frame. The rear end is the same, it absorbs all the impact very well just before the passengers. I dont know if anyone saw the pics of my wreck (t boned at 40mph by a 94's fullsize gmc pickup) but it really shows the 300d in all its "safety" glory. I jumped out of the sunroof, unharmed. Not an ache in my body. The point of impact was my door and before i got out and looked, i began thinking "that wasnt that bad, maybe a shop can repair it". Until i got out and found a bent frame. The cars look weak in a head on, but i dont think they are. And I know theyre strong on the sides
