Anybody looking at this 300CD on Ebay Take a Look

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1985-Mercedes-300CD-W123-Coupe-Turbo-Diesel-BioDiesel_W0QQitemZ120223571783QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item120223571783

I just got back from driving this car. The trans does not shift correctly. The sunroof does not work. Car has vacuum issues. The pass window does not operate properly and will jam going down. The driver's side window is not aligned correctly. Only one rear 1/4 window worked. The car was hit on the driver's rear 1/4 and not fixed correctly. It has tons of bondo and it is cracking through the paint. There is some rust in the spare tire. The jack points looked good. The floorboards were all wet. The interior is ok and seats were nice but it did have a dash cover on it. The instrument cluster was changed for one that does not have a tach but instead a clock. The a/c does not work. It started right up and idled good with the oil cap sitting place not being blown off. The car has had a total repaint and paint is on all window seals and some of the chrome is falling off. The paint where it is not cracked on the rear 1/4 looks good. Just a heads up so you know what you may be getting into. My best guess is it's only worth $2500 tops.

I'll offer $50.00, for scrap, and it will serve as a parts car...

He obviously buys formerly wrecked vehicles and sells them. You can only go back a certain timeframe of course on his feedback, but he sold a Porsche Boxter with a salvage title. Oh, and he was selling that one because he was moving out of the country. He is selling the Mercedes because he is moving into town and no longer has a highway commute.

He also has a 99 E300 that he is going to sell. It has been wrecked also. Not sure if it has a salvage title also. The car was not as bad as I made it out but not as good as he made it out. If you just wanted a daily driver diesel it would be fine if you could live without a/c and you could fix a few things yourself. The car lot it was at a repair shop/junkyard/car lot. I would of loved to have that much room and as many shops when I used to own my own but it sure would of been a lot nicer.

Noticed something on this car I have never seen. Can someone please tell me what type, brand, or style of headlight surrounds these are?

Doesn't look like the American or Euro composite lights I am familiar with, mainly where the foglights are. Was that a 1985 thing?

Euros had a headlight wiper option, that required those "door" covers.
