good diesel/MB shop in Tidewater Virginia

I hope this is the right place to ask this....my apologies if it isn't: one of my godchildren lives in Norfolk, VA, and has a 91 300SD. I have brought it up here to Annapolis a few times for service but it really isn't practical to do so, plus I just gave his sister an 87 350SDL which is another daily driver. Does anyone know of a competent and honest shop in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area that would work on these cars- a shop with which you have personal experience? I would be grateful for any referrals or help anyone can provide. Having to bring these cars up here for service is expensive, and a headache.

Having said that: if you need a Mercedes worked on in the Annapolis area, I can recommend Mamock Automotive on Legion Avenue. Highly competent, honest, and prompt. They have worked on all five of my MB cars and done a terrific job.

I've only had a place do one thing for me. Larry's Import Center did the work. Things went ok.

I second Larry's. Maybe a bit pricey for an indy but the work was competent. Another is Smithfield Import Center in Smithfield. Good for basic work but I wouldn't take anything complicated or 2000+ there.
