Belt Tensioner - What year?

What year belt tensioner will fit on my 1987 300TD? Anyone know?

I need to find a used one.

Don't buy a used one. A new one isn't that much money, and the bearing in them tends to wear out quickly.

Is that the part that usually goes bad, or is it the spring or shock. The pulley seems to be out of alignment just a little and I get a constant squealing noise.

All the parts can go bad, except perhaps the spring. As I understand it when the pulley is no longer square the arm is at fault. Take the belt off and see if the pulley still spins freely. If not, replace it too, its pn is 6012000930.
