OM603.961 + 190d 2.5 5-speed trans in a 190e?

First of all, i know the crazy sweeds have got the 603 in the 201 chassis before:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j58QyrzfEEY
but i am wondering if it is a direct bolt on? Specifically motor mounts. I have a 2.5 190d 5-speed trans on the way (not sure model#) and a chance to get a running 86 300SD that 'smokes' for 1500. The 603 + this tranny would be the ultimate setup. In any 124 or 201. I have a rolling chassis i could swap it into now, but ultimately i would want it to be into an 040 124 wagon. Anyways, if anyone can enlighten me to the direct bolt on-edness of this swap let me know!
And you know that the SD chassis would be yours for the picking-apart!

No, it won't even be near bolt in. Custom engine mount arms, transmission mount, driveshaft, radiator, A/C condenser and oil cooler at least. It would be a very tight fit. Obviously its possible but you'll need some skills and ingenuity to get it in.

Ever see how MB shoehorned the 2.6 in there?

yes, ive been raised off 2.6 190es. I wouldn't call it a "shoehorn" fit... Now when i put an m104 in there, you can call that a shoehorn! If you take the time to look at the video posted, you will see that the engine has plenty of clearance in the 201 engine bay. Actually MORE than the 2.6 you think is 'shoehorned' in there. I've pulled at least 5 m103s out of w201s... WITHOUT a load leveler. Its really not that tight. Transmission mount and driveshaft are all taken care of. The 2.5 trans was from a 190e, remember? Obviously all turbo components will be custom, as i dont have a 2.5 TD for parts. Im not worried about that. oil cooler, probably just fab one up with the 16v cooler i have sittin around. I find it hard to believe the motor mounts are that much different. Can anyone with any actual experience chime in?

Sounds like you have your ducks in a row, it might not be that much of a challenge for you. Mounts should be easy to make from scratch or with an adapter plate like the attached one for a W123.

I doubt anyone around here has any actual experience putting a 603 in a 201. You're more likely to find somebody like that in the Mersu forum.
