Wasn't the consensus that the new "Multi-Vehicle Formula" of Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF was not good to run in our trannys? It smells a lot different and does not have Dexron III certification. We've since switched our cars to Valvoline Fully Synthetic Dexron VI, which does have Dexron III certification.

Cost is better too.

Valvoline stuff: $4.70/qt
Mobil 1: $6.90/qt

The Dexron VI is available at NAPA.

I change my fluid yearly....so its probably more than sufficient.

I just got done doing a search and reading that lengthy thread about tranny fluid. I guess I will look for the Valvoline synthetic.

BTW, local Advance Auto wanted $7.6x a quart for the M1.

All of our cars seem to love the stuff, nice smooth and firm shifts when we switched over.

I jusr changed mine this weekend, and Ended up using Chevron ATF. I would have used Mobile1, but the price scared me off - BUT, I had come across the thread that Pawo mentioned, but I looked into it further and the new formulation IS DexIII certified....

I can't seem to find Valvoline synthetic. I found the stuff for newer Chrysler cars. I went to 4 different parts stores today. I want to stay away from Mobil1. I have a few more calls to make tomorrow.
