Motor Mount w/ Arm removal advice needed
I need to remove the motor mount on the driver side while connected to the mount arm, because the bolt that holds them together is stripped clean. EZ-outs and bolt extractors don't fit through the cross member hole, so I removed the two top bolts on the mount and the 4 nuts holding the arm to the block. I also removed the engine shock and mount. The arm and mount are now loose and ready to be removed, but the steering hose/hoses are in the way.
Would I cause more problems by removing those lines at the hard connections? Should I try to whittle away at the rubber on the mount and pull them out as two pieces? The heat shield and tight quarters will make the task of cutting the mount very time consuming, but if it's safer than cracking open those fittings, I'll do it that way. Any opinions or other ideas? ![]()
