Synthetic engine oil merely reprocessed petro oil?

Oils such as Mobile 1 and AMSOIL are true synthetic oils and are chemicly created from "scratch" not processed dino oil. Others such as Castrol Syntec are hydroisomerized (processed) petroleum oil.
