Yesterday I fired up my engine after it had been sitting idle for a couple of months. It ran fine for about 2-3 minutes, after that I shut it off.
Took off the valve cover and this is what it looks like, cam is completely dry between the two last lobes, you can clearly see the surface rust on it. The last two lobes were.. if I stretch it.. barely lubricated. Should I worry about this? I mean, it ran just for a couple of minutes, maybe it takes some time for the oil to reach all the way back there? Should I pull the oil line and clean it, maybe there's crap in it? Whadda ya think? It's a OM617.910 and it has oil pressure (needle pegged to 3).
