Fishing vacuum lines thru driver's door
Got a vacuum line problem in the rubber boot at the driver's door. Vacuum line cracked there about 4 yrs ago. Fixed it by cutting and putting a rubber line to splice it. Now the rubber broke and I can't seem to get the splice to hold.
Anyone have any good ideas on how to run a new hard vacuum line from the door switch, thru the hinge area and down to the floor. Looks like fishing it thru that area could be tricky. Or does anyone have any other suggestions apart from doing what I had been doing which was simply disabling the whole system.

What I did was tape new stuff to the old one, and when I pulled the old one out, the new one was fished into place.

When I fished new window motor wires through the hinge area, I removed the accordian from the pillar and the door so I could see the wires pass though the openings and the accordian clearly. Then I worked the rubber accordian ends back into position.
I found this to be the way to go after trying to fish through all those pleats for about a half hour.

Did you pull it from the door end or the floor end?

Good idea. I didn't have an old piece to use as a fish line, so I used a thin fish tape. I entered the tape from the door side to the pillar side and pulled it back with the new line.

I went pillar to door side. I'd agree with pulling the accordian away so you can see better. I used electrical tape, since it was in my tool box. Held up fine.
