Factory Recall??

sorry if i am repeating a past thread,nothing came up on the search..
anyway, i heard a rumor about a factory recall on turbos? any more details on that?

It was something like that.. If your car is a cali model with the cali emissions crud then you might still be in line for work.


the cali cars had a trap ox before the turbo and sometimes they liked to fail and send chunks into the turbine blade.

look on the drivers side door jamb.There should be a red sticker that tells if your car is a federal or California emissions equipped vehicle. another tell tale sign is a giant football looking on the passenger side of the engine compartment.

how can i tell if its a cali model??
my turbine whines alot, im hoping i qualify for this recall so i can just get a new one..

On the TrapOx. If the turbo is found to be damaged from TrapOx failure they will replace it for free while they swap the TrapOx for the OxCat.

it could be normal whine.. Check your intake U-Tube connections for any signs improper sealing.
