Better years than others for a 240D???

I have a family friend with a 1978 240D with 206K-ORIGINAL OWNERS and they are ready to sell it to me!!! Looks like my years of begging have paid off. This car is the benz yellow and is in great shape since it has always been garage kept. I have seen posts on this site that say to buy a 240 from 1979-1983. Since these cars were built from 77-83 I was wondering if their is something wrong with the 77 and 78?

PS-I am a new member and live in Southwestern Virginia-anyone on here that lives in my area?
