For the love of my 300D

I love hearing about people who find w123's and take them in, and fix them up rather than letting them rot away in a junk yard. Just wanted you show y'all a picture of my little wreck that i refuse to let go of. I broke up with my mechanic because of this car. He had no hope for it, but i told him to piss off, and as of today, baby's got a new radiator, and oil cooler. The headlight housing and upper radiator mount is going on this week, and she should be ready for the summer.

btw, dont even ask about the windshield, it was the damn tow trucks fault. wind blew up the hood and smashed it to bits.

good for you. there are plenty of 123`s in the junk yards for parts. you should have her on the road good as new.

we have a 79 240 at our local pnp with a perfect body, no rust. you guys back east in the salt belt would give your left ___ for this car. shame to see it get crushed.

show us some pictures when you get her all done.

Charlie ☺

I had rebuild one W123 300D it had been rear ended what made me rebuild was: first it was for free, second, every thing works perfectly in the car, Third, inteiror was in mint condition not a crack on the dash, and it was worth rebuilding it.

Good luck with your project....o yeah make sure that dumb@$$ tow truck guy pays for your windshield replacement...(professional towing service my @$$)

Geez, that's an ugly little whipper, but I'm glad you are committed to fixing it back up. Good for you!
Keep us posted, and keep a pic diary along the way.....

I am driving a car that was totalled now.

In past years I fixed two that had been totalled and drove them more. One got fixed really nice and sold, the other got fixed roughly and eventually I parted it out because there was a running problem that I never figured out.

Good for you!

One on the road is worth two in the scrap heap. Congrats, I like your decision.
