This is a historic day in regards to energy markets with heating oil already limit up(over 7%) and oil approaching the same level. Diesel is going to be unbelievably expensive within the next two weeks.

BREAKING NEWS! Oil prices are going up! BIG SURPRISE!

It might have been news 3 years ago but with the worthless dollar and the USA's very poor world power its been long overdue.

Actually I noticed diesel prices have gone down at the pump for the first time in recent memory.

At my local station this past weekend it was $4.72/gal. Today when I drove by it was $4.59/gal.

I'm not saying it won't go up. But Lance and Craig's point is that it is always going to go up so we might as well get used to it.

Also I noticed that diesel went down but gasoline stayed the same at $3.79.

I remember 10 gallons for a buck

That was before I was a driver, but it doesn't seem so long ago. When I was in the US Army in 1954/55, we could buy "army" gas at the PX on Friday PM's for $0.11. And that was in Brooklyn, NY. Weren't very many people looking for car diesel in those days. And this is the first time in my life that it is painful to buy fuel. Before this current price surge of the past 24 months, nobody really considered the price of fuel. It was a necessary part of the cost of transportation, but it wasn't painful.

Seven Corners Chevron in northern Virginia dropped $.10 in the last week, from $4.69 to $4.59, prompting a 'topping off'
