What is everybody paying for Methanol?

Just got a quote for $35 for a 5 gallon container. That is about $! per gallon for finished bio. Sounds a little pricey.

OK OK NOT as pricey as #2 diesel mind you. but is $7 per gallon the going rate??/

$7 is very expensive. It should be in the $5-6 range.

$5.62/gallon, $5.45 if you buy two.

I paid $190/drum with tax about 3 weeks ago. They said prices would be going down again on the next shipment. So i'm hoping for ~$160 pre tax range this week

Even $190 is great. We paid $284 for the last drum we bought. That's $5.18 a gallon....

There is a place here in VT that sells it for something like that, may even be more. Then you can get a 55 gallon drum for like $215 near Rutland VT.

who is selling it? Ward Oil? $4 a gallon seems decent.. I remember buying a drum of methanol for $120 a drum....but that is because like.. ten of use would buy them at the same time for a volume discount.

Isn't methanol racing fuel? Can't you go to the racetrack and buy some?

If anyone's making biodiesel around the central florida area I would like to see how it's done. I'm really starting to think I might make biodiesel myself.

Danny, on tuesday a couple of my friends are coming over to learn how to make biodiesel from me. One of them lives in Orlando and if all goes well wants to start a Co-op. If you are free tuesday, let me know and I will let you know when to come over
