what is this part?
Hello I just bought this 83 300d, it has a hard shift, which I read was a vaccuum leak problem, anyway I opened the hood and see that this plastic part is broken where there used to be a vac line connected. I just cant make out which part it is on the vac diagrams. The little nipple barb that connects the hose has broken maybe I can glue it back on?
I would really apreciate if someone could tell me what this part is and where I can get a new one.

its a check valve to keep vaccume in the brake booster.

a hardshift can also be caused by hydraulic pressure in your tranny dropping or your bands your transmission wearing out.

That is the vacuum pump to brake booster line. The two lines coming off have a particular size orifice. Do not try to repair it, replace it.
