Flex discs & Differential pinion seal on '99 W210
The rear flex disc and differential pinion seal are about to get replaced on my 1999 E300 turbodiesel (W210) which just turned 200k miles. I am also going to do the front flex disc. I have the WIS instructions. Doesn't seem too bad to do as a DIY job. I do NOT have a lift.
Any insight from people who have done this job will be appreciated. For example, were any special MB tools essential to a successful outcome? Also.....anything else that should get replaced @ 200k miles while this work is in process? Thought the driveshaft (a.k.a. propeller shaft) support bearing might also make sense to replace. Differential fluid will also get changed during this job and will be sure to use the correct spec fluid. Thank you, Ken
