Best source for part numbers?

Without buying the book, are there any good web sources for PN's?

in the market for a used 1985 617.952 crankshaft and want to ensure I don't get ripped off.

You have to join this site but the first year is free. The site lists all part numbers.

Thank you, I have already found that site by searching the forum. I loathe giving my credit info.

At least it's free. I had to pay $20 for my subscription several months before they announced the "free" policy. Count your blessings!

If giving out credit card info really bothers you, you should look into one of those services that allows you to use a unique one-time credit card number for each transaction. I don't know how much the service costs but it solves the problem of people stealing the number since it's good only for the one transaction.

PayPal is also good for that kind of stuff but the EPC web site doesn't do that.

What's this about "the first year" being free? They charge after that? First I've heard. My sub is up in a couple of months.
