Looking for a manual, found these

Is anyone familiar with these manuals? I've been the Haynes and Chilton route already on other vehicles, and need something closer to the truth than those seem to be.

I found this one on Ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mercedes-Service-Repair-Manual-190E-240D-300CD-300SD_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2em14Q2el1318QQhashZitem150267940431QQitemZ150267940431

I found this one at mercedesmanuals.com:
http://www.mercedesmanuals.com/1992_1999_Mercedes_Benz_140_Chassis_p/p270014004cmb.htm

I have a 1992 300SD, and while I fixed a problem with the sunroof with no manual, I think the more ambitious tasks may require reference material, but I don't necessarily want to have to buy a library's worth of manuals to do it. Ideas?

Thanks.

Don't use of those places. Go to www.mbusa.com. Their prices on the older manuals are very low.

On the left side of the page, choose "Mercedes in Depth" and then "Classic." This opens a new page.

On the top of the page, choose "Classic Center" and "Technical literature" to find the part numbers for the factory service manuals on CD or DVD. Then call 1-800-FOR-MERC to order the material.

Actually, I can't find your car there. But there is yet another route to easily find the M-B part numbers.

Go to www.startekinfo.com. On the left side of the page, choose "MB Workshop Resources" and below that click on, "Service manual library CD/DVD." This opens a menu with a single item, a link to the "Star Service Library." Click this and you will get a list of all of them. Unfortunately, I cannot find a manual for the 126 there. Anyone know the story?

Thanks for the tip, I don't think I'd have ever found my way there without it. However, when I get to the classic technical literature part, and select my model year (1992), there is no listing for a 300SD. Was this manufactured under a different name? They only seem to show listings for 300SD up to 1991.

?

I thought it was a 140, not a 126. Am I wrong? When I google the part number for the 140 manual, I get the following:

Sorry, I was reading that as 1982 for some reason, which would have been a 126. They definitely have the 140 manual.

I got the 210 manual on DVD, and am quite pleased with it. Be sure to check M-B's price on the 140 manual before you buy it elsewhere.
