Upshifting better now

My 85 300 SD seemed like it was shifting too late the other day like at about 3000 rpm or higher did'nt look that close at rpm but seemed like it revved too high before shift to 2nd.Did a lot of reading on this site and decided to look at the kickdown switch.Took it off and tested it seemed to be working properly and not sticking but today when I took it for a test drive the car seemed to shift great shifting into 2nd at about 2000 RPM which seemed fine to me and progressed up to 4th at good rpms and downshifted nicely also so at this point I am going to just leave the kickdown off and further test it.Maybe the carpet was hanging the switch up I do not know but unless I see some problem with how it shifts I will leave it unhooked. If I have to look further next will be bowden cable.Appreciate the good info. on this site
