no reverse on auto tranny

I have a 92 300D 2.5 with 197,000 miles on it. The transmission just started to slip in reverse about a month ago and has gotten worst.
Just changed filter and fluid without any improvement. So I guess it's time to think about pulling it. What is the cost to rebuild it or go to salvage yard to fine one. Does a gas 300E auto interchange with the diesel?

No, the Gas and Diesel Valve bodies are different.

Loss of reverse is usually sign of just what you're considering.

You may be able find a used Tranny.
