1994 S350 with 1987 OM603, coolant sensor
My gauge goes between 90 and 100C on the highway after the engine swap. New radiator, new thermostat. Here's the thing, on the 94 3.5L engine, the gauge read off a sensor in the block behind the Injector lines. On the 1987 engine, I didn't notice a sensor in that location. So, I attached the harness to the water outlet where the top attaches. Any idea if that location would cause the difference I'm seeing?

Actually, from what I'm reading, 90C cruising on level ground at 65-80MPH with the AC running may be more normal than I thought. My W126's run at about 80-85C consistently in those conditions. Maybe it's the added weight of a W140, or perhaps a different final drive ratio putting more strain on the drivetrain, I dont know. Hoping it's just the top W126 position where this sensor is instead of the block position that the 3.5L used. Hmmm.
