w126 power seat switch wiring

hey guys..

on this SD im working on..the passenger power seat switch is in pieces, most of which are lost..so i was able to get a memory seat switch from a 2nd gen w126..i only want to wire up the existing functions (front/back tilt, forward/back, and up/down with the backrest) Now normally this would be an easy task of just undoing plugs and sorting out some wires but this seat switch is original. the wires are soldered to the contact points. I thought maybe there might have been someone out there that attempted this or knew how to do it before i go in there and try to do it myself..

anyone?

thanks

Kris

I had one of each kind of switch in my car (I guess some one changed one before I got it). The switch that was soldered in broke so I bought a plug in switch base from **************.com and a used switch. This is a simple upgrade and worth it.

I switched out my old soldered switches for the new connectors without the memory. I have like 3 pages of writing that me and my dad went through to try to get the wires right. From the top of my head all the colors match except one pair. (Seat forward and back) they are switched ex. blue to purple instead of blue to blue and purple to purple. although i don't think those are the colors. I will see if I can find the pages and post them here. If I remember right the new switches don't fit exactly like the old ones did. I don't know if this was just me or if they all are like that.

this is what i found in my FSM

I got everything except the *'d part. They confuse me. On the Left Switch from connector A (#4) to connector B (#3) and on the right switch from connector A (#3) to B's (#4)

I understand the A#3 to B#4 but i dont get the first part..

The base that I bought from ************** was color coded so you just connected the wire of that color to the indicated post. I did have to install the jumper indicated in your diagram and I will look for the instructions I used.

Found it

This is also a good write up

So once you modify the newer type switch and solder a new style plug onto the wires in the door will the memory type switch work in an early W126? I got a memory switch from the junkyard and would like to put it in my '82 SD.
