Cleaning the 603.960 Air Intake
I'm looking for past expericences with the job of removing the intake manifold/cross-over pipe and having them cleaned to remove the carbon build-up. I'm a DIYer and I'm hoping it's a R&R process with a trip to the machine shop for cleaning and gasket/o-ring replacement . I welcome and appreciate all comments.
The 87 300TD-T is new to me and when I test drove the car the PO and I had to clean out the boost sense fitting on the intake because performance was so poor (car wouldn't easily make it up to 40 mph). When we did this it looked like the inside of the intake was gummed up pretty badly behind the fitting as well and I don't want a piece to dislodge find it's way into a cylinder and bend a rod. The EGR has already been disabled by the new owner TIA, Mark
