Tightening suspension links---best method and tools?

Hi all,

Ok, so I finally got my rear subframe up with all the suspension links put in. Question: what is the best way to tighten them? I've read many a posts that the car needs to be on terra firma with the wheels on before torqueing the nuts, bolts, etc down to spec. However as many of you know, you can't because some are just out of reach if all 4 tires are on the ground. So do you just lift up the other end and go from that side? I've never done it that way and I shudder at the thought of lifting the car from one end only.

Also, there are some links whose other ends are very difficult to get to. There's one link (name escapes me) that has a cup shaped protector that impedes you from using a flat combo wrench or a socket to hold it in place while youre tightening it down. Can anyone help me here with some tips?

Thanks,
Bob
