Need some engine shock mount help
Hi folks,
Just started to replace the engine shocks and motor mounts on my 83 300D. I was taking of the engine shocks before I raised the motor and I found both upper engine shock mounts totally destroyed. The bottom shock mount bushings are not in much better shape. Can someone direct me to where I can purchase upper engine shock mounts and bottom bushings. I can't seem to find them anywhere. Many thanks

Ok, never mind, I found them by changing my search parameters a bit. Now for the $64,000 question......Since they are going to take about 10 days to arrive, can I drive the car without them for a few days? I'm putting in new motor mounts and do not want to destroy them.

Yes, you may drive your car until the engine dampers arrive. You may, however, notice more vibration than normal, but the motor mounts will be fine.

I got mine through a dealer and I believe they came from Germany.
Also yes, you can drive without them....I'm sure most people who aren't enthusiasts like us are driving around with worn out shocks and / or ripped bushings anyway!
