190D European

Hi there,
Please bear with me, as I'm a new member...
I have an opportunity to buy an '85 190D european edition. It has a 2.0L diesel engine and a 4 speed manual transmission. My concern is: how different is this from the North American models? Are the parts/manuals interchangeable with the 2.2 engine? If not, how hard are parts (I mean from basic oil/air/fuel filters to complex overhauls) to come by? Any other comments/comparisions would also be welcome. I searched this site a bit, but couldn't find any relevant info. Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong spot...Thanks!
