front fender ?

Hello, can anyone tell me if a front fender from an 85 500SEC will fit on my 85 300SD? I am not able to see it in person due to the distance involved, but will go check it out if I find out that it will fit. Thanks in advance. Jim

If you do that your going to need to change the whole front. So grab the hood, and other fender. Might as well grab the bumper to.

The SEC look was hot for awhile in the 80's. I think AMG even did a few.

What Hattie is saying is the sec doghouse is competely different including hood fenders and under the bumper...headlights too.

It will bolt on, but is not identical.

If you would be happy with a replacement fender you can get one for $65.

It will bolt on, but you can't just bolt on the fender because its different. You have to take the C126's front sheet metal and bolt it to your W126's front end.

I have no idea if the SEC hood will clear your 617, it should...

Not to mention the side markers are different between the two models as well.

IIRC all the mounting and everything up front is different, its not a direct bolt on. find another sedan, any 126 sedan and the fender will work.

No, thanks to the great followups from you all, I will take a pass on this one. There is a guy on Chicago CR selling the left, right front fenders and the hood for what seems to be a fair price. I figured on buying the left front to replace my bubbling one. I replaced the rusting right side one this past year and I figured a nice left side one that is the same color of mine for 75 dollars would save me hours of body and paintwork. But seeing that it is not the same, I will take a pass. Thanks again guys, Jim
